Cosmic evolution from galaxies to DNA. These are nourished by the merciful love of God symbolised in rays of blood and water. From this love, the Word of God becomes flesh in Mary's womb - symbolised by moon. The Son of God bears all the weaknesses of human existence until death on the cross. His body is bloodied with all sins.
"Then he breathed out the Spirit" (Mark 15). The sacrament of the Eucharist, as a life-giving force, is the core of the Christian faith and visualises Jesus' gift of life on the cross and his resurrection. It is symbolised by breaking off the host, the fragment of which is lowered into the chalice. Every human being is in the eye of God and through the Holy Spirit can look ahead to the world to come.
After death and resurrection, Jesus ascends to the Father and sends humanity the Holy Spirit, who will accompany them until He comes again. When time is fulfilled, there will be no more sun, because God will shine over everything. The reversed time and a new, golden world, symbolises this state.
